Old-school RTS Defilade announced, set in modern warfare and heavily influenced by Command & Conquer: Red Alert 1 and Sudden Strike 2, garnering over 100,000 wishlists within two weeks.
The game features deep AI cover mechanics and a fully destructible environment system. Soldiers seek cover, rescue wounded comrades, dive to dodge grenades, vault over obstacles, and dig trenches. Assemble your troops, protect supply lines, and fight on vast, fully destructible, and vividly realistic battlefields.
About This Game
Deep Cover AI Mechanics
No scripts, no preset fake cover points, just soldiers trying to survive.
Real Walls, Real Cover
Every wall, crate, car, wreck, trench, and window can serve as cover because soldiers judge based on the actual shape of surrounding objects. Once flanked by the enemy, this cover becomes instantly useless.
They Fight Like Real Soldiers
Behind low walls, they crouch, pop up to fire, and duck back down. By high walls, they peek around corners, lean out to shoot, then retreat into cover. Crouching truly hides them; standing up truly exposes them.
They Listen, Remember, and Want to Survive
They turn toward unseen gunfire, share spotted enemies over radio, and remember where bullets come from. Unless ordered, they won't casually stroll through kill zones.
Every Bullet Counts
Bullets whizzing past pin soldiers down, keeping their heads low. Ammo truly runs out: positions low on ammo gradually fall silent, long bursts turn into single shots, and soldiers passing corpses swipe mag clips.
Leave No One Behind
Wounded is not dead. Not yet, anyway.
Down, But Not Out
Soldiers who run out of health collapse, shout for medics, and start bleeding out. As long as they have strength left, they drag themselves toward cover.
Rescue
His squad lays down covering fire first. Once it's safe enough, someone rushes out to grab him by the shoulder and drag him back, while another comrade provides covering fire while retreating. The wounded soldier keeps firing back with his pistol as he's dragged away.
Field Treatment
If someone kneels beside him to bandage wounds and perform CPR, he can get back up and keep fighting. Medics work twice as fast. But each time he goes down, his body grows weaker, and his luck will eventually run out.
Medical Tent
Once medical tents are built, stretcher bearers rush out to retrieve your wounded, and even the fallen, carrying them back to be healed before returning to the field. Two carry the stretcher; if only one remains, they drag it; if one gets shot, the other presses on.
Captives Who Talk
Take them alive. They know a lot.
Hands Up
When cut off, surrounded, and pinned down by fire, soldiers might drop their rifles, raise their hands, and beg you not to shoot. This is rare: they only surrender when all their comrades are down and no one is coming to save them.
Escort Back to Camp
One of your soldiers handcuffs him and escorts him back to base for interrogation. He spills Everythinggj: how many men they have left, what armor they possess, where their bases are, what air assets they have, how much ammo and funds remain, and their next plans. This intelligence is all true at that moment.
Useful Intelligence
Once he reveals the enemy base's location, it appears on your radar. But this works both ways: if your soldiers fall into enemy hands, they will spill Everythinggj, and the enemy commander will act on that intelligence.
New Recruit or Underground Dungeon
After handing him over, he defects: "I'M WITH YOU NOW." Rebels, however, keep captives, forcing them to kneel in guarded tunnel cells, interrogating them repeatedly to keep track of your troop positions.
Details
It's these small details that bring the battlefield to life.
Grenades get thrown back. Toss a grenade at someone brave enough, and he'll pick it up off the ground and hurl it right back at you.
Blown away. Explosions send soldiers flying into the air. Some manage to crawl back up, dizzy and stumbling, trying to regain their footing.
Vault, slide, dive, melee. They vault over walls, slide into cover, dive to dodge grenades, and engage in hand-to-hand combat when things get too close.
Pick up weapons. When a machine gunner falls, someone rushes forward to grab his gun and keep firing.
Tanks with weight. Tanks smash through walls, shells ricochet off armor, tracks snap leaving them stranded, and destroyed tanks sometimes have their turrets blown clean off. Attacking from behind destroys tanks faster, so your RPG shooters try to flank them.
Drones overhead. FPV operators pilot suicide drones into your soldiers and tanks. Soldiers hear them approaching, try to shoot them down, and dive to dodge at the last second.
They talk. Speech bubbles appear above their heads when they shout orders, get hit, or call for medics.
Base Building
In Defilade, nothing is built out of thin air. Place a building, and your soldiers walk over to construct it by hand, all while battle rages around them.
Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) are Everythinggj
Forward bases serve as strongholds for combat and places to retreat for ammo resupply; each one completed increases your troop cap. Losing your last FOB means game over.
Supplies Are Lifelines
Each completed FOB opens a road to your own lines, and supply trucks begin shuttling back and forth. Everythinggj runs on these supplies. Trucks can be ambushed; if the enemy cuts the supply chain, every FOB beyond the break point goes dark and paralyzed.
Build Positions, Construct Fortifications
Barracks, factories, research facilities, helipads, and medical tents. Trenches, concrete walls, barbed wire, mines, anti-tank obstacles, machine gun nests, and watchtowers. Rebels even dig complex tunnel networks.
Then hold it
Everythinggj you build can be smashed to pieces, but also repaired; any FOB belongs to whoever storms it and holds it. The AI follows the exact same rules as you, and it has its eyes on your FOB. You can cooperate online with friends or battle against them.
Dig trenches. Hold the line. Don't lose your last FOB.
