Enshrouded Surpasses 5 Million Players; Version 1.0 to Expand Map and Combat Content

Enshrouded version 1.0 will launch on PC and PS5 on October 15, featuring an expanded map and additional combat content. Antony Christoulakis, Creative Director at Keen Games, stated that the game has surpassed five million players; the team had previously staked the studio's future on this title, and its performance has exceeded internal expectations.

Enshrouded entered Steam Early Access in early 2024, selling one million copies within four days and surpassing three million sales by August of the same year. The newly announced figure of over five million refers to players, not sales.

The 1.0 update will extend the map northward, opening previously inaccessible areas as endgame content that continues from current progress. Existing player bases will remain unaffected, and old save files will continue to work.

In terms of combat, mages will gain critical hits, jump attacks, and more spells. New skills and equipment will be added for each class, level progression paths will be extended, and enemy types within existing hostile factions will increase. The base-building system will introduce the Sparkworks logic system, allowing players to create interactive content and share it via a sharing platform.

Both PS5 and PS5 Pro versions target 60 FPS. Cross-platform play will not be supported at the 1.0 launch. The Xbox Series S|X version has been delayed until spring 2027.
