Patch 26.21 is expected to launch next week. It will be the first update after the World Championship patch and one of the four remaining updates for 2026. The previous patch focused on serving professional esports, while the upcoming changes will shift focus to end-of-season ranked play.

Lead Gameplay Designer Matt Leung-Harrison stated that the team hopes to preserve each champion's strengths while redistributing power to give space to champions who have been suppressed due to their performance in professional play. He cited Azir and Ryze as examples, and also mentioned potentially making some champions' weaknesses more apparent by increasing mana costs, among other methods.

Yasuo and Yone are planned to be nerfed. Shieldbow has become a strong first item for both, but Matt Leung-Harrison stated that the changes will not directly target the interaction between their passives and Shieldbow. Taric and Twisted Fate are also planned to receive gameplay adjustments involving interactions between their ultimate abilities and untargetable effects; Taric's Q ability is also under adjustment.
