Cold Symmetry released a hotfix for Mortal Shell 2 on October 13, covering PC and consoles, with the console version number being 1.000.012. This update reduced the final boss's health and fixed various issues related to summons, dungeon loading, and more.
In terms of combat, the update fixed abnormal behaviors for certain weapons, stones, and summons, including friendly fire from attacks, inability to aim or interact with weapons, and summons failing to attack at scene edges. The issue where summons did not grant experience points after killing enemies has also been resolved.
The final boss's health has been reduced, player resistance to Cosmic Disease has been doubled, and telegraphs have been added to its grab attacks. Phase transitions, hitboxes, and lock-on positions for other bosses have also been adjusted.
For dungeons, fixes were applied to slow loading when seamless dungeon streaming is enabled, repeated dungeon loading, and potential progress blocks caused by certain warning screens. Players on their second playthrough can now obtain three additional Ova in the last dungeon area.
The update also introduces some new visual effects, adjusts haptic feedback and camera collisions, and optimizes environmental collisions, traps, shader caches, and multiple scenes.
