Hex Reverse launched on Steam on October 7 and is available for free during its first 30 days. As long as players add the game to their library before the event ends on November 7, they will retain permanent access even after it becomes a paid title, without needing to purchase it again.
This event differs from free weekends that only allow play within a limited time. IsaoWorks, the developer and publisher of the game, plans to switch Hex Reverse to a paid model after the free period ends. The regular price is expected to be around $2, with specific regional pricing subject to store listings.
Hex Reverse is a roguelike deck-building game where battles take place on a board made up of 19 hexagonal tiles. Players take turns placing cards and comparing the values on adjacent edges; the side with the higher value can flip the opponent's card, meaning both placement and card orientation affect board control. After winning a battle, players can also choose cards from their opponent's deck.
The game also features skills, elemental effects, and special battle conditions. Players can spend SP to strengthen their own cards, weaken opponents, or draw extra cards. Outside of battles, they can organize saved decks, buy, sell, and fuse cards, and upgrade equipment.
