Embark Studios has launched an experimental pure PvE test in ARC Raiders. Players can join dedicated servers via separate matchmaking to team up with others against the ARC. The test will end on all platforms on October 20.
In the pure PvE lobby, players cannot deal damage to each other. This rule also covers weapon effects such as stun grenades and incendiary gear. Barricades and ziplines continue to function as usual; solo players may still encounter duos or trios.
Loot values are reduced during this test, and the new Frigate and Redirection conditions are not included. Hidden Bunker, Night Raid, and Locked Gate are also excluded. The original PvEvP matchmaking remains available, allowing players to continue choosing gameplay modes that feature player-versus-player combat.
Embark notes that the new matchmaking options may affect wait times, and the team will monitor matchmaking performance. The developers also hope to gather player feedback on this test to understand which designs work well and which areas need adjustment, before deciding whether and how to continue offering this type of experience in the future.
