German indie team Dadi Entertainment has updated the free Steam demo for the medieval fantasy action RPG "King's Crusade," adding Traditional Chinese support and 12 types of nighttime events. The demo is now available to play, with the game scheduled to launch in Early Access on December 7.
This update was released just ahead of the Steam Next Fest. In addition to language support and nighttime events, new activities have been added to the throne room, while the demo now features creatures lurking in the water and new dragon adventures.
Players take on the role of a king, handling cases before the throne and venturing beyond the city walls to fight. When facing those on trial, you can choose to release them, fine them, or imprison them in the dungeon. The common people, the church, and the mages will remember these decisions, though the consequences may not be immediate. Outside the city, you can wield swords, cast spells, or use bows and arrows, taking action in locations such as bandit camps, misty forests, and pirate ships.
Learning skills also requires trade-offs: studying archery from the church or magic from the mages will affect whether the other faction continues to offer lessons. The king must also dispatch dragons on missions, deal with skeleton night raids and volcanic activity, and maintain the treasury; as the character ages, players must also arrange for an heir.
