Ranked multiplayer for Gears of War: Judgment Day launched on October 13, covering four modes. The Coalition is also preparing a patch to fix major bugs and improve game stability, but no release date has been announced yet.
Rankings are calculated separately for each of the four modes. Players must complete five matches to determine their initial rank. Ranked tiers include Bronze, Silver, Gold, Onyx, and Diamond; the system also features four divisions based on skill level to show a player's position relative to other competitors.
Before ranked play launched, the game servers suffered a DDoS attack, causing some players to experience disconnections and excessively long wait times. The Coalition stated that these issues have been resolved. A patch currently being prepared by the development team does not yet have a confirmed release date.
