The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Double DLSS 5 Injection Ages Characters? Facial Changes Spark Player Debate

This test was conducted in Novigrad, an area dense with NPCs, at 1440p resolution with Ultra+ settings, enabling both ray tracing and path tracing. The demonstrator believed that dual processing enhanced texture depth, detail, and shadows, leading some to mistakenly think the characters looked older. However, a mod that makes Geralt's face appear younger was also enabled during the test, so the facial appearance cannot be attributed solely to DLSS 5.

Opinions in the comments section on the visual effects were mixed. Some felt that the second processing pass made faces appear puffy, while others thought the warm tones of the candlelight were diminished. The demonstrator noted that some facial changes were related to the characters' original expressions, ambient lighting, and mods.
