29 Changes Observed in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Demo, Involving Puzzles and Combat

What changes have appeared in the Switch 2 version of "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake"? After playing for over an hour, an IGN author compiled 29 observed changes compared to the original N64 version. This is not a complete list, covering areas such as the Lost Woods, the interior of the Great Deku Tree, Hyrule Field, Castle Town, and the Forest Temple, and includes spoilers for original puzzles and dungeons.

In the early stages, Link's wallet has an initial capacity of 200 Rupees. The challenge to obtain the Kokiri Sword has been changed to jumping onto a higher platform in the center of the room, and a training dummy explaining defense mechanics has been added next to the Forest Shop. Inside the Great Deku Tree, spider enemies must first be spun around with the sword before their weak points are exposed.

During exploration, cracks in the ground that likely hide entrances provide more intuitive clues. In Castle Town, players can freely control the camera angle and walk continuously from the entrance to the Temple of Time.

The Forest Temple now features elevators for easier repeated access; some similar rooms are distinguished by the colors of their carpets and stained glass windows. The demo also revealed adjustments to certain enemies' attack telegraphs, the Phantom Ganon battle sequence, and puzzles.

Additionally, the author noted more character dialogue, as well as referenceable quest logs, changes to the item interface, and the ability to cast Din's Fire in real time.
