Recently, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier revealed that GTA 6 features a dynamic sweating system, where the amount of sweat produced by protagonists Jason and Lucia changes in real time based on how vigorously they dance.
This mechanism does not rely on fixed pre-rendered textures; instead, a character's sweating state dynamically adjusts based on physical exertion. In nightclub scenes, the more intense the dancing, the more pronounced the sweat effects on the character's skin become. The sheen and wetness of the sweat change accordingly, and even the hair takes on a damp appearance due to perspiration.
Schreier noted that these seemingly minor visual details also consumed significant development resources, which partly explains the game's lengthy development cycle. It's not just dancing; this sweating system applies to various physical activities. Characters will exhibit corresponding visual sweat feedback after engaging in high-intensity actions, further enhancing the immersion of the open world.
As a major title polished by Rockstar Games for many years, GTA 6 has invested heavily in numerous detailed systems, such as environmental interactions and character physical feedback, aiming to make behavioral responses in the virtual world feel more realistic. The official team has not yet disclosed all trigger conditions for this system, so more details will need to await further announcements.
