After Epic Games updated its launcher, some players claimed that developers found a way to launch Fortnite from Steam without opening the full Epic Games Store interface.
According to participants, this is not about adding a shortcut to the game's executable file in Steam. They adjusted the launch process so that when Steam launches the game, it only calls Epic Games' anti-cheat components and a few necessary processes.
Developers stated that the most difficult part was separating the game's essential components from the rest of the platform. This method is currently only mentioned by users on social media platforms, with no independently verifiable operational steps, applicable conditions, or long-term results available.
