Ubisoft has just completed a major restructuring, with the gaming giant splitting its core IPs into five independent "creative studios." Each studio will have "end-to-end responsibility" for its IP, including branding, project scope, financing, and release strategy. Alongside the announcement of the new structure, Ubisoft canceled six games and delayed the development of seven others. Subsequent reports indicated that Ubisoft might lay off approximately 18% of its workforce, with the ultimate goal of cutting at least €200 million in fixed costs annually. These layoffs appear to be separate from the previously reported 18% reduction plan.
