Gears of War: E-Day launched a major patch on October 14, fixing an issue where some players were placed in the wrong ranked skill division. The development team identified this error after the launch of Ranked Mode; this update also improves stability and memory performance, and addresses glitches across multiple modes.
Fixes for the Campaign mode address issues with Field Journals, achievements, and co-op progress not being recorded correctly, as well as cases where the second player could not join in split-screen. Some chapters previously became unplayable due to abnormal behavior from enemies, bosses, or traps, and these issues have also been resolved in this update.
In Horde Siege mode, the patch fixes issues such as enemies briefly turning invisible, events and objectives malfunctioning, and missions failing to end after teammates leave during the extraction phase.
For multiplayer, the update addresses errors related to objective interactions, weapon behavior, map zone detection, hit feedback, and respawn protection. The patch covers numerous items, with specific fixes varying by mode and platform; players experiencing issues with progress not saving, getting stuck, or match anomalies can refer to the full patch notes for details.
