Pang Donglai Dream City Construction Site Goes Viral; Japanese Netizens Say It Feels Like Another Dimension

Recently, a video showcasing the impeccably organized construction site of the Pang Dong Lai Dream City project in Xuchang, Henan Province, went viral overseas. Even many Japanese architecture bloggers, known for their attention to detail, were deeply impressed by the construction footage, exclaiming that it felt like entering another dimension.

Dream City has a total investment of 6.5 billion yuan, entirely funded by own capital without loans or financing. The project covers approximately 570,000 square meters. It also features viewing platforms equipped with surveillance cameras to publicly display construction progress, allowing netizens to monitor the work remotely.

Unlike many domestic construction sites characterized by dust and simplified procedures, Pang Dong Lai's site strictly implements various construction regulations, paying utmost attention to details.

Before waterproofing, workers use industrial vacuums to meticulously clean every inch of base layer dust before laying waterproofing membranes in layers. Continuous spraying is used on-site to suppress dust. Sludge trucks must undergo three stages of high-pressure washing before leaving the site to ensure tires are free of mud. Materials are neatly stacked, resulting in a level of cleanliness that exceeds many people's expectations.

The project broke industry norms in funding and labor protection by not requiring contractors to advance funds. Advance payments were made upon entry, progress payments were disbursed on time each month, and workers' wages were transferred directly from dedicated accounts to their personal bank cards, eliminating wage arrears at the source.

The construction site's living area is fully equipped, with air conditioning and 24-hour hot water in the dormitories. There are couple rooms, laundry facilities, and a medical clinic. During summer, childcare classes are offered for workers' children, and an on-site pro bono lawyer is available. In case of heavy rain or high-temperature warnings, work will be halted immediately, but workers' wages will continue to be paid as usual, with no reckless rushing of the schedule.

Many Japanese netizens who watched the video remarked that such comprehensive worker protections and meticulous construction standards are rare in today's construction industry.

In fact, Pang Dong Lai didn't use any cutting-edge technology; they simply diligently implemented national standards and labor law requirements. It is precisely this seemingly simple approach that appears extremely rare and precious in current society.
