UK retailer Smyths has updated the product descriptions for The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Nintendo Switch 2 console and Pro Controller, noting that both devices feature user-replaceable batteries. Previously, it was believed that these special editions might not include this design.
Smyths recently received a new batch of related products, drawing attention to the updated pages. However, the replaceable battery is currently only mentioned in the retailer's product description; there is no teardown evidence, actual replacement instructions, or independent technical specifications released by the manufacturer for this special edition.
The Legend of Zelda series is celebrating its 40th anniversary. The themed console and Pro Controller are scheduled for release on October 29, 2026, with the related remastered game launching on November 5, and two additional amiibo figures planned for release in 2027.
