Mario Voice Actor to Dub? Ocarina of Time Remake's Talon CV Sparks Player Discussion

The choice of voice actor for Talon in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake has sparked player speculation. Charles Martinet, the former voice of Mario, and Kevin Afghani, the current voice actor for Mario, are both considered potential candidates by fans; the developers have not confirmed this speculation.

This speculation stems from the similarities between Talon and Mario: Talon has a mustache, wears a red shirt and blue pants, and sports accessories related to Bowser. His sleeping pose also recalls Mario in Super Mario 64; his partner Ingo is thought to bear some resemblance to Luigi.

Players have also interpreted certain sounds in the trailer as clues. However, neither the character designs nor the audio cues confirm the voice actors. Talon's official character inspiration is Marin from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, who himself features traits reminiscent of Mario.

The remake is scheduled for release on November 5, 2026, with the pre-order price on Amazon Spain already reduced to €59.90. No voice cast for Talon has been announced yet.
