The unofficial store Overdrive, designed for jailbroken PS5 consoles, vanished from GitHub this week, with its original repository page returning a 404 error. Subsequently, reports emerged that a clone rebuilt from an older version of the software has appeared, offering approximately 1,800 games; however, the existence of this project and its library size remain to be verified.
Overdrive originally featured a library of over 1,600 games and gained attention following the recent emergence of PS5 jailbreak methods. After the original repository disappeared, two theories emerged: Sony may have issued legal demands, or the project creator shut down the store voluntarily. Currently, there is no evidence confirming Sony's involvement in the takedown.
According to claims about the clone, a GitHub user decompiled the old version of the software and rebuilt the application. What can be confirmed at present is that the original repository page returns a 404 error; the reconstruction process of the clone and the claimed library size of around 1,800 games still need verification.
