eFootball™ World Finals participant slots for both Console and Mobile divisions increased from 16 to 24 players each
Konami Digital Entertainment Limited (KONAMI) today announced detailed information about the official eFootball™ esports tournament, eFootball™ Championship 2027, for the free-to-play soccer game eFootball™, available on home consoles, PC, and mobile devices. In addition to introducing new competitive progression paths for the 2027 season, the number of qualifying spots for both the console and mobile divisions of the eFootball™ Championship 2027 World Finals will increase from 16 to 24 players each. The total prize pool will also rise from $100,000 to $300,000.
The 2027 season will feature two major tournaments: the eFootball™ Championship 2027 Club Event (hereinafter referred to as the Club Event), where partner clubs such as FC Barcelona and Manchester United select their strongest representative players; and the eFootball™ Championship 2027 Open (hereinafter referred to as the Open), which is open to players worldwide. Winners of Local Events held in various countries and regions will directly qualify for the World Finals, providing more top-tier players with the opportunity to compete on the highest stage of eFootball™ esports.
Players who stand out in the Club Event, Open, and Local Events will advance to the eFootball™ Championship 2027 World Finals, scheduled for summer 2027, to compete for the world championship title. The season officially begins today with the first event, eFootball™ Championship 2027 FC Internazionale Milano, which will select the player representing the club. Additionally, players who achieve high rankings in the in-game Round 3 Ranking Event may receive special Show Time player rewards to further strengthen their team lineups.
Winners of each Club Finals will also be invited to participate in an exclusive Club Tour program, visiting the home stadiums of partner clubs to watch official matches and take part in stadium tours.
Last season, the eFootball™ Championship attracted a record-breaking 45 million players worldwide. Building on this momentum, the 2027 season will once again bring together top players from around the globe to compete for the honor of becoming the next eFootball™ World Champion.
