New on-set photos from "The Mummy 4" show Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz together again. The two are returning to their roles as Rick O'Connell and Evelyn Carnahan. Filming is still underway, and the movie does not yet have an official title.
Weisz did not appear in the third installment, "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor," released in 2008, where Evelyn was played by Maria Bello. Weisz's return to the role is one of the reasons why the photo of the pair together has drawn attention.
The new film is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, known for their collaborative work under the name "Radio Silence." John Hannah is reportedly set to appear, while it remains uncertain whether Arnold Vosloo will return.
The film is said to pick up directly after "The Mummy Returns," ignoring the plotline of the third film, though specific story details have not been revealed. Universal Pictures plans to release the movie on October 15, 2027.
