Refresh Rate Battle Escalates! TCL CSOT Plans 700Hz OLED Display Panels

TCL CSOT is planning OLED monitor panels with refresh rates up to 700Hz, available in 32-inch and 34-inch sizes. According to a report by Omdia, these panels are expected to be produced at the 8.6-generation inkjet printing production line in Guangzhou, with operations scheduled to begin in 2028.

Currently disclosed information does not specify the resolution of these panels, nor does it confirm whether the 700Hz figure represents a native refresh rate or one achieved at lower resolutions. Therefore, 700Hz remains the planned maximum specification, with exact details pending further confirmation.

Prior to this, TCL CSOT also plans to launch a 27-inch, UHD resolution, 120Hz refresh rate inkjet-printed OLED panel in the third quarter of 2026, intended for use in an MSI content creation monitor.

While 700Hz itself is not the industry's highest refresh rate, the significance of this plan lies in applying such high-speed specifications to 32-inch and 34-inch panels. Omdia predicts that OLED monitor panel shipments will reach 6.1 million units in 2026 and 7.5 million units in 2027. The actual mass production timeline for TCL CSOT's panels remains to be confirmed.
