Toy Story 3 for PS5 Receives Positive Reviews! Visual Upgrades Still Have Camera Issues

The PS5 version of "Toy Story 3" received positive reviews from Push Square. The review highlights that this upgrade once again showcases the playability of the original's platforming levels and Toy Box Mode, while noting shortcomings in cutscene quality and camera work.

Released in 2010, "Toy Story 3" is a well-received movie tie-in game. Players can control Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie across eight levels with varied objectives: some allow for exploration, mini-games, and item collection, while others are linear levels restricted to specific characters. The review particularly praises the controls in the linear levels, including a segment recreating the opening of "Toy Story 2," where Buzz Lightyear infiltrates Zurg's fortress.

Beyond the main story, Toy Box Mode offers an open-ended town-building area. Players can unlock decorations and new residents through missions, and adjust building functions and colors. The reviewer considers this mode content-rich, allowing players who enjoy management and customization to invest significant time.

The most noticeable changes in the upgraded version are improved resolution and textures, along with a few quality-of-life adjustments. The author also points out that cutscenes remain blurry, and the camera occasionally hinders gameplay during certain platforming sections.
