Auroch Digital and Big Fan Games have released Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The sequel picks up directly where the previous game left off, continuing its retro visuals and fast-paced combat, while adding a second playable character, new weapons, and enemies.
Players can choose between two characters with different equipment and combat styles: the returning Ultramarine Malm Kaido, and the newly introduced Battle Sister Naira Belas. The latter focuses on fast-paced blade combat.
Levels feature explorable areas and hidden secrets. Enemies include new opponents from various factions, as well as Nurglings and cultists. In the story, the demigod Vashtorr triggers a massive explosion, severely damaging the Imperial fleet, prompting the two protagonists to embark on a mission to stop his plans.
The game features an original soundtrack with guitar and drum-driven battle themes, including new tracks composed by Mick Gordon, known for his work on DOOM Eternal. Japanese listings indicate a price of 3,150 yen.
