The promotional video for "World of Warcraft: Infinite" sparked allegations of using generative AI. Two Blizzard employees later responded publicly, denying that AI was used in the questioned video or any other social media content produced by the team.
A Blizzard digital marketing manager stated on X on October 14 that he had seen the relevant comments but considered the allegations of AI use in the video to be unfounded. He said the script for the promotional video was written by team members, with footage sourced and edited by the team; he also enters the recording studio with voice actors every week.
Subsequently, the World of Warcraft social media manager also stated on X that none of their social media content was created using AI. This response covered a broader scope than just the single promotional video, but specifically addressed the social content produced by the team.
