Since its release on September 24, Control: Resonance has sold 1 million copies. Based on the time taken to reach the million-sales milestone post-launch, it has surpassed Alan Wake 2 and is considered Remedy Entertainment's fastest-selling game to date.
For comparison, Control, released in 2019, sold over 2 million copies by December 2020; Alan Wake 2, launched in late October 2023, surpassed 1 million sales by that December. Remedy previously described Control: Resonance as its largest and most ambitious game to date. As such, the production budget for this title is likely higher.
Before launch, Control: Resonance accumulated over 2 million wishlists across all platforms. Upon release, it became Remedy's biggest Steam launch to date, with peak concurrent players nearing 43,000. Reported media evaluation data includes 83 reviews and a Metascore of 83.
Control: Resonance is available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. GamingBolt awarded it a 9/10 in its review, praising the game's visuals, combat, and storytelling, while noting that the combat starts off somewhat slow. The game has already received updates adding New Game++ and tweaking the gameplay experience. The latest update, expected in November, will introduce a photo mode.
