Rumors: Qin Dynasty-Set 'Assassin's Creed: Jade' Cancelled, Early Gameplay Footage Leaked

Early gameplay footage of Assassin's Creed: Dynasty has recently been leaked. This Qin Dynasty-themed title was previously developed in collaboration between Ubisoft and Tencent's TiMi Studio Group but has since been cancelled. The leaked material comes from the portfolio of a developer involved in the project, primarily showcasing a prototype created in February 2025, with both visuals and gameplay representing early development stages.

Video Showcase:

According to the revealed settings, Assassin's Creed: Dynasty takes place in 206 BC. Assassin's Creed: Codename Jade is also set in the Qin Dynasty, but its story occurs in 215 BC, making them two distinct projects.

The video shows a female assassin infiltrating a palace besieged by Xiang Yu and his troops to find a mysterious item, featuring early footage of a boss battle against Xiang Yu. It includes tests of stealth assassinations, leaps of faith, and rotating umbrella-like weapons. The UI displays ink-wash style ability icons, health bars, and decorative elements with yin-yang patterns. The footage also highlights weapon details such as the rotating umbrella and Xiang Yu's halberd.

Another clip features a male character performing parkour and taking down enemies. Foreign media outlet mp1st speculates that this could indicate optional character genders, or it might just be placeholder content. The outlet reported that Assassin's Creed: Dynasty was cancelled shortly after the prototype phase. Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin's Creed: Codename Jade is still in development, with no release date announced yet.
