Recently, ekki studio unveiled a new trailer and screenshots for the single-player narrative-driven action game SPINE - This is Gun Fu, showcasing the character appearance customization system. The video reveals four new outfits for the protagonist: the "Demon in a Shell" red-and-white mask ensemble, the "Extreme Violence" red leather jacket, the "Deadly Glamour" red evening gown, and the "Hard Beak" parrot suit. When wearing the parrot outfit, the protagonist can even scale buildings and leap between them. The developers stated that these four skins represent only a small fraction of the total appearances available in the full version of the game.
New Trailer:
SPINE - This is Gun Fu is a cinematic single-player action game centered around gun-fu. Players assume the role of Redline, a rebellious street artist who relies on "SPINE - This is Gun Fu," a sentient combat implant, to navigate the cyberpunk metropolis of Tensor City in search of her kidnapped brother. Ruled by artificial intelligence, the city serves as a refuge for humanity after external ecological collapse; a social credit system determines citizens' right to survive, dividing the urban landscape into the gleaming Upper New City and the dilapidated Old District. A mafia heist drastically alters the protagonist's fate, resulting in her brother's abduction.
The game utilizes Unreal Engine 5 combined with the self-developed animation tool Cascadeur. Stunt coordination experts contributed to the combat camera work and action choreography, creating a fluid gun-fu gameplay experience. The dynamic combat camera makes every fight feel like an action movie while preserving player control. By blending gunplay with close-quarters combat, each encounter delivers a strong sense of immersion.
SPINE - This is Gun Fu is scheduled to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam) in summer 2027, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version to follow.
