After GTA VI opened for pre-order, traffic to its product page on G2A surged to 65 times its previous level. Katarzyna Jakubiec, Head of Sales Partnerships and New Business at G2A, stated that PlayStation gift card purchases on the platform hit record levels during the pre-sale period and have continued to grow since.
Jakubiec also stated that GTA VI became the most-watched item on G2A in 45 countries, including the UK and the US, and entered the top ten most-watched list on the platform in 46 countries. These figures reflect visits, watches, and gift card purchases on the G2A platform and should not be directly interpreted as game sales.
To respond to shifting demand, G2A conducted multiple user surveys. Jakubiec said that slightly more than half of respondents plan to start playing within 24 hours of the game's release, while others intend to purchase later. As a result, the platform plans to cater to multiple waves of post-launch demand rather than preparing only for the launch-day traffic spike.
G2A offers game redemption codes, top-up credits, and other products, allowing users to compare prices from different sellers. Currently, the platform has disclosed only pre-order traffic and purchase data; final game sales figures and network load at launch remain undetermined.
