Principal photography for The Batman 2 was previously paused as director Matt Reeves attended to family matters. Steven Soderbergh will join the production to help complete the final weeks of shooting.
The studio stated that Soderbergh voluntarily offered to assist Reeves, an arrangement supported by DC Studios. The two directors will work with the cast and crew to finish the film in line with Reeves' original creative vision.
The two directors will maintain communication until filming wraps up. Reeves plans to return to oversee post-production. Soderbergh also expressed his hope that the newly filmed footage will seamlessly integrate with the existing material, allowing Reeves to continue completing the film.
The Batman 2 is scheduled for release on February 18, 2028. It is currently too early to determine whether this adjustment in filming will affect the release date.
