Publisher Serenity Forge and developer Freebird Games have released A Bird Story on PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch for $3.99. This experimental short title was originally released in 2014 by the creators of To the Moon and Finding Paradise.
According to the publisher, the game tells the story of a boy who finds an injured bird, with the narrative unfolding between reality and imagination. The experience lasts about an hour, features no dialogue, and has a self-contained beginning and end.
A Bird Story is primarily presented through interactive pixel art animation, combining adventure game elements with the visual style of traditional RPGs, all accompanied by an original soundtrack.
The console version features a 16:9 aspect ratio, 4K resolution, frame rates up to 120Hz, and new achievements. It also includes PS5 DualSense haptic feedback and higher-quality background music audio. The console launch trailer has also been released.
