The latest episode of Black Clover Season 2 showcases Mereoleona's "Incarnate" form. At the start of the second season, the Magic Knights and Heart Kingdom mages launch an offensive against the Spade Kingdom, with Mereoleona joining the fray on the front lines.
The anime returns after a five-year hiatus. The first season only adapted the initial part of the Spade Kingdom Raid arc, and the second season continues to depict the battles within this arc. The anime aired weekly from 2017 until it gradually caught up with the manga's progress in 2021. Since the manga later moved to quarterly serialization in JUMP GIGA, fans had to wait even longer for the anime's return.
Mereoleona underwent months of training to prepare for the battle against devils. When using her "Incarnate" form, she integrates flame magic into her body through precise mana control, enveloping herself in intense flames and boosting her power. However, maintaining this form for extended periods comes at a cost. Previously, she relied mainly on her physical abilities in combat, but this time she must utilize her grimoire to sustain the complex transformation.
The "Incarnate" form previously made a brief appearance in a non-canon movie, but now it features prominently in the main clashes of the Spade Kingdom Raid arc. The subsequent battles will continue in Episode 3, releasing on October 17.
