Universal Pictures has confirmed that The Mummy 4 is officially titled The Mummy: Book of the Dead. Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz will reprise their roles as Rick and Evelyn O'Connell, with the film still scheduled for release on October 15, 2027, maintaining the previously announced date.
Other announced cast members include John Hannah, Michael Johnston, Numan Acar, Kevin J. O'Connor, and Oded Fehr. Fehr previously shared photos on social media showing himself back in character as Ardeth Bay; recent set photos also feature Fraser and Weisz in costume.
The film is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, with a screenplay by David Coggeshall. Sean Daniel, who has worked on every film in the series, returns as producer.
The "Book of the Dead" appeared in the first The Mummy film, containing spells to resurrect the dead and summon warriors. How the new film will utilize this book has not yet been revealed.
