"A Bird Story" by the Creators of the "To the Moon" Series Now Available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox

Today, publisher Serenity Forge (known for To the Moon, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus!, and Kill Princess) and developer Freebird Games have officially released A Bird Story on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms, priced at HK$23 / $3.99 USD, with a free update simultaneously rolling out for the Steam version. The Nintendo Switch version will be released slightly later in Asian regions. Created by Kan Gao, the creator of the To the Moon series, this roughly one-hour silent interactive pixel animation tells the story of a young boy and an injured bird, with a new trailer now available.

In A Bird Story, a young boy encounters a small bird attacked by a badger and steps in to save it. Soon, the boy discovers the bird's wing is injured and takes it home to care for it. During its recovery, the boy and the bird spend their days together, quietly nurturing a friendship that gradually warms the boy's once-lonely world. A Bird Story alternates between the quiet moments of their daily companionship and dreamlike sequences, telling a moving tale of connection that lingers long after the story ends.

Unlike other narrative works from Freebird Games, A Bird Story features no text or dialogue, relying entirely on visual storytelling—interactive pixel animations convey details and emotions in every scene. As the boy and the bird's journey weaves between reality and imagination, Kan Gao's original soundtrack accompanies the visuals, setting the emotional tone for each moment. Together, the animation and music create the quiet, intimate atmosphere of A Bird Story, while leaving space for players to experience the story in their own way.
