The unofficial Project Ativ is attempting to port the PS Vita game "Uncharted: Golden Abyss" to PC. The developers claim that the game is currently runnable, but there are still bugs and inconsistencies at 60 FPS that need to be fixed.
Project Ativ uses recompilation to migrate code originally intended for the PS Vita, along with reprocessed system libraries, to modern platforms, rather than running a PS Vita emulator directly. The developers stated that "Unit 13" is also in a playable state.
The PS Vita's front and rear touch controls present challenges for porting. As currently planned, the PC version will replace touch input with a virtual cursor: players can switch between front or rear touch areas using different keys, then move the cursor with the analog stick and confirm with buttons. Developers are also addressing issues related to higher resolutions, control schemes, and frame rates.
Project Ativ has not yet released any downloadable versions or code repositories, so external parties cannot independently verify performance or confirm whether "Uncharted: Golden Abyss" can be completed from start to finish. The developers plan to open up the project after releasing the first batch of titles; "Killzone: Mercenary" is the next game they intend to tackle, and the PS Vita version of "LittleBigPlanet" is also under consideration.
