Publisher CFK announced that Nightmare Maniacs, an action RPG developed by South Korea's Maetdol Games, launched globally on PS5 on October 16, with both physical and digital versions available simultaneously. The game was previously released on Nintendo Switch; H2 Interactive handles publishing for the PS5 version in Asia.
The PS5 physical edition comes in Standard and First Press Limited Collector's Edition. The Collector's Edition includes the physical game, a limited-edition box, an art book, a double-CD soundtrack featuring 27 tracks, and an acrylic standee with a 3D model.
In the game, the amnesiac protagonist is trapped in a recurring nightmare. Players must explore ever-changing dungeons, seek ways to escape with the help of the "Dream Merchant," and battle powerful enemies in each area.
Combat revolves around attacking, dodging, precise blocking, and real-time weapon switching, allowing players to combine three different weapons as needed. Dungeon layouts change with each playthrough, requiring a fresh start upon failure; during your adventure, you can unlock contracts and enhance abilities to gradually build your own character build.
The PS5 version is a single-player game and supports Korean, English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
