The black-and-white Metroidvania game "Relu" is confirmed for release on January 21, 2027, launching on Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. This announcement was made jointly by publishers Super Rare Originals and Electronic Sheep Games, along with developer jamierowan.
The game's protagonist, Relu, is a small clockwork toy that suddenly gains consciousness. To fight for freedom, it must traverse a toy factory structured like a complex tower. The factory is filled with conveyor belts, circuits, and various mechanisms, while animated toys, giant mechanical enemies, and puzzles block the way.
Players will acquire new abilities during exploration, allowing them to overcome previously impassable obstacles and discover alternative routes and hidden areas. As they delve deeper, Relu will encounter other toys who also wish to escape the factory.
Combat requires quick reflexes and strategic use of abilities, but the game isn't solely about defeating enemies to progress. Developers also encourage players to observe their surroundings and solve puzzles. Official pricing and other product details have not yet been announced.
