Mod author and data miner Keff0m discovered a batch of Zeno-related residual scripts in the game files of Resident Evil: Requiem. These contents are said to belong to a relatively complete boss battle, but Zeno does not participate in actual combat in the final version of the game.
The scripts show that Zeno can unleash high-speed melee combos, block frontal gunfire, seize weapons held by the player, and use quick feints to disrupt the player. When the battle enters another phase, the arena expands, and Zeno retreats to a distance, constantly changing firing positions and attacking the protagonist with a sniper rifle.
Related analyses suggest that the scale of the residual code indicates this battle may have been developed to a fairly advanced stage. However, Keff0m points out that the current PC and PS5 release files lack basic components such as enemy activation triggers, arena geometry, and phase transition algorithms, making it impossible for mod authors to restore the complete battle using only these scripts.
Whether these mechanics will be re-enabled in future updates or additional content remains solely the speculation of data miners. Capcom has yet to issue an official statement regarding the findings, the reasons for the content's removal, or any future plans.
