October 16 news:NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated that customer demand for artificial intelligence (AI) chips continues to exceed the company's supply capacity.
In an interview on the "BG2" podcast released on Thursday, Huang revealed that new orders are pouring in "almost weekly, even daily," adding, "We are continuously increasing supply, and order volumes continue to grow."
Major cloud service providers, emerging AI cloud operators, and equipment manufacturers have all placed substantial orders. Huang noted that customers forecast demand at least one year in advance, with the largest clients planning up to two years ahead.
However, the production capacity NVIDIA allocates to these customers is far below their actual demand. Jensen Huang stated that factors such as power shortages, data centers still under construction, and component manufacturing are also constraining the company's ability to ramp up supply.
Huang also stated thatthe financial situation of data center operator CoreWeave is improving, and he believes it is unnecessary for NVIDIA to provide a bailout for CoreWeave, saying, "I am optimistic. Their cost of capital is actually decreasing."
