The Galaxies Autumn event unveiled a new gameplay trailer for "1666: Amsterdam," highlighting the dual-phase day-and-night gameplay where the witch Noa investigates clues during the day and hunts demons with magic at night. The trailer also features scenes where players can control a cat.
At the Galaxies Autumn event, the official gameplay trailer for "1666: Amsterdam" was revealed. This third-person action-adventure game is led by Patrice Désilets, one of the core creators of "Assassin's Creed." The game launched into Early Access on PC on August 25. Through this new video, players can gain a more detailed understanding of the gameplay and fantasy world. Currently, no release date has been set for the full version.
The game's protagonist is Noa, a witch. She must investigate a series of mysterious events while combating demonic entities known as "Primordials." These enemies typically disguise themselves as humans. At night, they reveal their true forms and wield supernatural abilities.
The gameplay is primarily divided into day and night phases. During the day, Noa explores various parts of Amsterdam, gathers clues, and tries to identify which individuals are Primordials. This phase emphasizes investigation, observation, and logical deduction. After nightfall, enemies become more dangerous, and the game shifts to faster-paced magical combat.
The trailer also showcases multiple characters and locations, with one playable segment even allowing players to control a cat. The developers hope that these less common scenarios and gameplay elements will enrich the overall adventure, rather than limiting it to just investigation and combat.
"1666: Amsterdam" combines historical atmosphere, mystery, and supernatural threats. Patrice Désilets, best known for his work on "Assassin's Creed," returns to historical settings with this project, but this time infused with dark fantasy elements. As the game is still in Early Access, its final scale and specific content may still be adjusted.
