Players Port DLSS 5 to Forza Horizon 6 and Resident Evil Requiem, Boosting Performance by Up to 40%

Modders have imported NVIDIA's updated DLSS 5 neural rendering model into Forza Horizon 6 and Resident Evil: Requiem. Although neither game has official support yet, unofficial tests show performance gains of up to nearly 40%.

This model first appeared with the latest update for NBA 2K27. NVIDIA stated that the new model is 24% smaller in size, reduces VRAM usage by 20% at 4K resolution, and can process neural rendering up to twice as fast as before; with similar image quality, it can boost frame rates in NBA 2K27 by up to 40%.

The modders then ported the model using an experimental version of OptiScaler. In a test system equipped with an RTX 4060, Forza Horizon 6 saw performance gains of nearly 40%, while Resident Evil: Requiem improved by about 30%. Another test using an RTX 4080 SUPER at 4K resolution with path tracing enabled showed frame rates rising from 108 FPS to 150 FPS, an increase of approximately 39%.

Testers also noted that swapping the model reduced color saturation and made the neural rendering effects less intense. These results are currently from unofficial experiments, and actual compatibility depends on the specific game, hardware, and modding environment. Different configurations may not replicate the same performance gains, and this does not replace official support or comprehensive cross-platform testing.
