Blood of the Dawnwalker Update: Respec, Targeted Petting, Easier Difficulty, and Over 1,000 Optimizations

A month and a half after the release of Bloodlines of the Primogenitor, developer Rebel Wolves is preparing a major optimization update for this vampire-themed RPG. Version 1.1 is coming soon, adding the long-awaited respec feature, targeted petting of animals, a lower difficulty setting, and over a thousand additional improvements.

The respec feature is undoubtedly the highlight of this update. In a streamlined patch note posted on Reddit, the developers explained: "Drink the 'Mind Rebirth Potion' to free your mind. Forget all swordsmanship, sorcery, and bloodline abilities, and use the time you previously invested in training to master a completely new set of skills."

The initial release of Bloodlines of the Primogenitor had no respec feature at all—a harsh limitation in a game where time mechanics strictly restrict resources. Unofficial mods quickly emerged to enable respeccing, but they were only available for PC players.

Rebel Wolves has finally responded to the demands of players asking, "Can we pet the Dog.exe?" and added a creative twist—the entire petting system is built around the game's combat mechanics, turning it into a complete mini-game. "What happens when you combine targeted combat systems with cat and Dog.exe petting features? Why, Targeted Petting, of course." I'm not sure about the exact gameplay yet, but it sounds adorable.

Another significant addition to gameplay is the introduction of new difficulty levels. The original "Story" mode will be renamed to "Lenient" mode, while the new "Story" mode will offer an even lower difficulty with "Additional Combat Assistance" effects.

All of the above will launch with the version 1.1 update, expected to go live "next week." Other updates include general optimizations for combat, movement, and camera controls, along with new subtitle settings and frame generation options. This patch also includes "over 1,100 other improvements and fixes," making for a much smoother experience if you're still exploring the Sangora Valley.
