Palworld currently features over 280 Pals, and Pocketpair plans to continue expanding the roster through major updates. The team stated that adding new Pals is not about padding numbers, nor do they set predefined quantity targets such as "must release 100 Pals in the next update."
John "Bucky" Buckley, Head of Publishing and Distribution at Pocketpair, stated that new members should be added in a meaningful way. Ideally, each Pal should have at least one memorable trait, with distinctiveness coming from its design, abilities, work suitability, combat role, personality, or perhaps some quirky or interesting element.
As the Pal roster expands, overall balance becomes more complex. After each new Pal release, the team continues to review player data and feedback to assess balance. Since Palworld combines collection, survival, base building, and active combat, new members need to find their place across multiple gameplay dimensions.
This discussion did not reveal the number, list, update schedule, or specific balance plans for the next batch of Pals. The team also mentioned that when considering Palworld spin-offs, "maximizing revenue" is not the driving factor behind creative decisions.
