Mod author Kim2091 has released an RTX mod for Fallout: New Vegas on Nexus. The project uses a version of NVIDIA RTX Remix that has been modified over several months, adding path-traced lighting as well as new sky and weather systems to the game.
This renderer improves scene processing speed, enhances decals and parallax effects, and directly reads scene information through custom game wrappers and NVSE plugins. According to Kim2091, its visual fidelity is closer to native path tracing renderers, and it runs more efficiently than unmodified RTX Remix.
The mod enables path tracing for light sources behind the player, moving lights, and Pip-Boy illumination. The physical sky includes atmosphere, volumetric clouds, stars, and the moon, changing dynamically with in-game time and weather, and can recognize weather types added by other mods. Water features waves, ripples, and caustics, with sunlight dimming when underwater.
This mod is compatible with PBR and parallax texture packs, and supports DLSS Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction, Frame Generation, FSR, XeSS, and NVIDIA Reflex. Kim2091 recommends that AMD and Intel GPU users prioritize XeSS for better stability. Future updates will improve performance, add features, and fix bugs. Currently, it is incompatible with New Vegas Reloaded, ENB, ReShade, and some mods with overlapping functionalities. Please check your existing mod configuration before installation.
