Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has received strong early reviews on Steam following its release. As of the time of writing, the game has garnered 2,655 user reviews with a 91% positive rating, earning an "Overwhelmingly Positive" overall status. According to the data listed in the original article, this marks the highest rating achieved by any Call of Duty title on Steam in over a decade.
The game's strong start is primarily driven by its campaign mode. Both players and critics have praised the campaign, marking a stark contrast to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, whose campaign was considered one of the weaker entries in the series.
The Steam positive ratings listed in the original article show Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 at 36%, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 at 44%, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 at 48%. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4's current performance even surpasses that of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, which was well-liked by many players.
However, the current ratings reflect only the campaign experience and do not yet represent the full reception of the game once all content is available. Whether the 91% positive rating can be maintained remains to be seen as the number of reviews continues to grow.
