Recently, a wedding video sparked heated discussion on social media platforms. At the wedding ceremony, a Chinese bride gifted her groom an ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 graphics card, and the groom burst into tears upon opening the package.
Video Appreciation:
In the video, after shedding tears, the groom held the graphics card high, displaying it to the guests like a trophy. For PC hardware enthusiasts, the emotion of receiving a top-tier graphics card is something only those who share the same passion for hardware can truly understand.
This graphics card belongs to the ASUS ROG Astral series and is one of the highest-end custom models of the RTX 5090. It is based on NVIDIA's Blackwell architecture GB202 core, featuring 21,760 CUDA cores, 32GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and a 512-bit memory bus. ASUS has equipped it with a four-fan cooling system, a patented vapor chamber, and phase-change GPU thermal pads, allowing the core Boost clock to reach up to 2610MHz.
The price is the most shocking part of this gift. The launch price of this custom RTX 5090 was $2,799, but due to the discontinuation of the RTX 5090 and extreme market scarcity, its price has more than quadrupled within 12 months. Currently, this graphics card is valued at approximately $12,000 (around RMB 86,400). In domestic channels, the price of the ASUS ROG Noctua RTX 5090 once reached RMB 25,350.
The scarcity of the RTX 5090 is not a short-term phenomenon. NVIDIA has stopped supplying GB202 chips to AIC partners, and US retailer Micro Center has changed its status to "no longer available." Against the backdrop of severe supply-demand imbalance, an RTX 5090 as a wedding gift indeed carries more weight than many traditional gifts.
