After completing the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 campaign, players will see a special memorial during the end credits. Infinity Ward lists the names of Reiner Yang, Matt Canale, Preetam Raj Bordoloi, and Vince Zampella, honoring these colleagues who have passed away and contributed to the Call of Duty series.
Zampella co-founded Infinity Ward with Jason West; the two are regarded as the co-creators of Call of Duty and launched the series' first title in 2003. Zampella later co-founded Respawn Entertainment and served as its CEO at EA, heading the Battlefield series and overseeing EA's non-sports studios.
Among the others honored, Bordoloi is said to have worked on at least ten Call of Duty titles, with his last being Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Canale joined Infinity Ward in 2013 during the development of Call of Duty: Ghosts and recently worked on Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. Publicly available information on Yang's involvement in the series is currently scarce.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 also serves to wrap up the Modern Warfare storyline. This tribute, appearing after the campaign's completion, adds a layer of farewell as the story comes to a close.
