A mystery adventure game inspired by "Prince of Blue Road" and "Highway 96," revolving around a repeating seven-day cycle
Game development studio STUDIO909 (Director: Kazuhide Oka) has announced that the demo for the mystery adventure game "Quiet Express: Room 909" is now available on Steam. The demo release was announced during the online game showcase event "The MIX Fall Showcase 2026," where the game's trailer was also revealed.
The demo is estimated to take about 30 minutes to play. Players can try various methods to avoid the train derailment accident that occurs on the seventh day.
Additionally, with the release of the demo, the official Discord community for the game has been opened, where walkthroughs and demo update information will be posted.

About "Quiet Express: Room 909"
Have you heard of Room 909...?
"Quiet Express: Room 909" is a railway travel adventure game. You will embark on a train journey aboard the "Quiet Express," which crosses the continent over the course of seven days.
To find the supposedly non-existent "Room 909," you will explore the train. Passenger cars, dining cars, botanical gardens... various carriages are connected end-to-end as the Quiet Express travels toward the western coast of the continent.
During your journey, you will meet various passengers and learn snippets of their life stories. By listening to their tales and completing their requests, you will gradually uncover the mystery of Room 909.
The Train's Mystery and Carriage Rearrangement
You will wake up in the last carriage of the Quiet Express and make your way toward the front of the train.
What lies behind the door depends entirely on you standing before it. Passenger cars, dining cars, freight cars... the game randomly selects three options from various carriages for you to choose from. By exploring the carriages, you may occasionally find items that allow the options to be rerolled or add a fourth choice.
By rearranging the carriages, you may discover paths never before explored. Locked doors, unresponsive buttons, hidden ceiling compartments... many mysteries lie hidden in every corner of the "Quiet Express" train.
Encounters with Various Passengers
Each time the train stops at a station, various passengers board.
Beastmen, giants, androids... this is a world where different races coexist harmoniously. The long era of conflict and prejudice has ended, with every race enjoying equal rights, and an awareness eliminating gaps and discrimination is influencing more and more people.
Even so, they each carry their own troubles. While some face dilemmas specific to their race, others confront regrets long harbored in their hearts. Such worries are unavoidable for any race.
Why do people board the Quiet Express? By interacting with passengers and unraveling their lives, your presence might change their futures. This process will likely help you achieve your goal as well.
The Repeating Seven Days
The Quiet Express was supposed to reach its terminal station on the seventh day.
However, just before reaching the terminal, the train suffers a horrific accident. The carriages are engulfed in flames, and no rescue comes. All passengers and crew members perish in the accident.
However, when you regain consciousness, you find yourself back on the Quiet Express just as it departs from the starting station. Time has rewound seven days, and the train heads west once more. But if nothing changes, the train will suffer another accident after seven days. You must find a way to prevent the accident before reaching the terminal station.
As the seven-day journey loops again and again, you will gradually approach the mystery behind this time loop.
Searching for the Non-Existent Room 909
You are searching for "Room 909," which should not exist on the Quiet Express. There is no such room on the train, and neither the passengers nor the conductor know of its existence.
Where exactly is Room 909? Did it ever truly exist? And why are you searching for that very room? Furthermore... why does time rewind with each death, forcing you to relive the same seven days? Why can you actively choose what kind of carriage lies behind the door? None of these questions have been answered yet.
All these mysteries will ultimately lead you to a unique ending.
