Castlevania: Belmont's Curse features seven weapon types: longsword, sword and shield, gauntlets, greatsword, spear, dual blades, and whip. Rose Belmont can choose based on different combat needs. Weapons are the primary source of damage, while arcane spells are limited by mana, and three equippable relics provide passive bonuses. Therefore, weapon characteristics also influence spell and relic combinations.
The longsword is the starting weapon, offering a balanced mix of attack speed and damage. It can perform special attacks after dashing or sliding. The sword and shield sacrifice some offensive power for defensive capabilities; successfully blocking incoming attacks builds up mana, and charging allows you to lunge forward with a shield bash.
Gauntlets are ideal for high-speed close-range combos. Continuous hits enhance combo effects and can link into uppercut-style moves and aerial combos. The greatsword has the highest base damage among the seven weapon types but suffers from slower attack speed, so be mindful of enemy counterattack windows while charging.
The spear balances attack range with exploration utility, allowing you to throw it at flying enemies or break distant walls. Dual blades deal low damage per hit but boast an extremely fast attack speed, and precise inputs can extend their combo chains.
The classic whip can attack in multiple directions, dealing more damage when hitting with its tip and pulling enemies closer, though it offers limited mobility and defense. All seven weapon types have versions of varying rarity, with legendary versions featuring unique effects.
