DICE has released update 1.000.036 for Battlefield 6, marking the third client update within the same week as the launch of Season 5. This update is expected to focus primarily on bug fixes rather than adding new content, although specific changes have not yet been announced.
Following the launch of Season 5, several issues emerged in the game. An unintended backend configuration temporarily reduced XP gain rates for core modes and Weapon Mastery, but these settings were rolled back on October 15, with DICE confirming that progression speeds have returned to normal. A fix has also been deployed for the white screen issue occurring after the campaign opening cinematic on PS5 Pro, which previously prevented players from continuing.
Issues currently under investigation include: in Battle Royale mode, revive prompts not appearing or being unusable on downed teammates; and vehicles taking longer than expected to passively regenerate health after leaving combat. Additionally, the "Vegas Strip" map has been temporarily removed from Rush mode due to an issue with the first M-COM objective, and the Underslung Mount attachment for the Mk24 assault rifle has been disabled due to unintended interactions.
Players who purchased the Phantom Edition were originally eligible to receive the new Legendary Soldier skins added in the Game of the Year Edition for free. The developers have now automatically distributed these items to eligible accounts via the in-game inbox. DICE stated that they are working on relevant fixes and emphasized that the currently disclosed issues do not represent a complete list. The studio had previously issued explanations and apologies regarding the poor quality of certain cosmetic items in the Season 5 Battle Pass. As the full patch notes have not yet been released, it remains unconfirmed whether all the aforementioned pending fixes are included in update 1.000.036, with further patches expected to address remaining issues.
