The PlayStation 5 emulator KyTyPS5 has recently made significant performance strides. The Demon's Souls Remake can now exceed 60 FPS on a platform featuring an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070, with the displayed frame rate approaching 120 FPS when Frame Generation is enabled.
The tests showcased by Geralt Benchmarks use version v20261017, optimized by developer chenxiao07. The video creator noted that just a few weeks ago, achieving even 5 FPS in this title was difficult even with an RTX 5090 and the same processor. It wasn't until September of this year that emulation first reached 30 FPS, with earlier versions failing to maintain double-digit frame rates consistently.
This test includes running at 1440p with PlayStation 5's original graphics settings, as well as testing at 1080p with DLAA and Frame Generation both enabled and disabled. KyTyPS5 currently supports NVIDIA DLSS 2x Frame Generation but does not yet support DLSS Super Resolution, meaning it cannot leverage NVIDIA upscaling to boost base performance, and the maximum resolution is currently limited to 1440p.
With DLAA and Frame Generation enabled simultaneously at 1440p, the displayed frame rate approaches 120 FPS. However, intermittent stuttering persists during gameplay, and frame times remain uneven; figures after frame generation cannot be directly compared to native frame rates. The current emulation performance still has room for optimization before it can deliver a stable and complete everyday gaming experience.
